The Earthly Life and Ministry of Christ

This series, sponsored by Trinity Grace Fellowship (2003) is devoted to the life and ministry of Jesus of Nazareth.  Presentations begin with His birth through His ministry including His general sermons, parables, and detailing the Savior's Temptations.

Session One (To be Revised)

The Lineage, Birth, and Childhood of Christ

This session deals with the lineage and birth and childhood of Christ. Topics dealt with include His intrinsic Deity and intrinsic humanity—including HIs virgin birth, year and day of His birth, His dual human lineages which uniquely unify the line of David, and His childhood and early manhood and secret training by the Holy Spirit. These topics are dealt with from the Hebrew Scriptures and Hebraica and Talmud.  This session concludes with a discussion of the three great purposes of His coming.

Session Two (To be Revised)

The Temptations of Christ

Session 2 focuses on the nature, purpose, and implications of the temptations of Christ and includes a
harmonization of parallel texts, a treatment of the significance of the kinds and number of temptations, and a correlation of the temptation of Christ to the rapture battle of the Body of Christ.

Session Three (To be Revised)

The Sermons of Christ

This session samples Christ's sermons, those teachings done apart from parables (Session IV) and after His baptism and anointing of the Holy Spirit and His temptations (Session II). These sermons declare His intrinsic Deity and His Messiahship for the Nation; and they call Elect Israel to repentance and submission to Him as the Redeemer of Israel and the Guarantor of her future ethnic empire as declared repeatedly in the Prophets.  Throughout His sermons, constant appeal is made to the Law, Writings, and Prophets as understood by the normative hermeneutic, while He disregards and condemns the distorting traditions of the scribes and rabbis.  Further, these sermons are reinforced by His parables (Session IV) and His many miracles (Session V) as the Father's Witness, thus affirming the "charges" against Him before the Sanhedrin.

Session Four (Revised)

Selected Parables of Christ

As its purpose this session takes a fresh and exegetically consistent look at selected Parables of Christ. Many of the Lord’s Parables are categorized and correlated to the content of the Parables according to their contextual
settings and in light of the normative understanding of the original  audience. This discussion includes the eschatological ramifications of the Parables and their relevance to the Body of Christ. Specifically, this session focuses attention on the Parables of the Kingdom of the Heavens found in Matthew 13.

Session Five (To be Revised)
